Saint Lucia is a sovereign island country in the Eastern Caribbean Sea on the boundary with the Atlantic Ocean. Part of the Lesser Antilles, it is located north/northeast of the island of Saint Vincent, northwest of Barbados and south of Martinique. its capital is Castries. The island has a pair of dramatically tapered mountains, the Pitons, on its west coast. There are two airports serving St. Lucia. The first is Hewanorra International Airport (UVF) in Vieux Fort, which is 40 miles to the south of Castries, and the other is George F. L. Charles Airport (SLU), which is located within Castries on the North part of the island.

Hewanorra welcomes major carriers from Europe, Canada and the US and is a getaway to the Grenadines islands of Mustique, Bequia, Union island and Carriacou. Castries airport is used by regional airlines and is ideally located to reach hotels and resort on the North coast.
